I will always love you (Whitney Houston)

If I should stay, I would only be in your way
So I'll go, but I know
I'll think of you every step of the way

And I will always love you
I will always love you
You, my darling you, hm

Bittersweet memories
That is all I'm taking with me
So, goodbye
Please, don't cry
We both know I'm not what you, you need

And I will always love you
I will always love you, you

I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you've dreamed of
And I wish to you joy and happiness
But above all this, I wish you love

And I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I, I will always love you

You, darling, I love you
Ooh, I'll always, I'll always love you

Left-overs...

25/06/2012 22:20 Bilbao. Barrenkale... Taberna Akatz

Even if you're a lobster, or a sirloin, when someone doesn't want to eat more, you soon become a left over... It has nothing to do with the quality of the original piece... You're a left over and that's all!!!
The funny thing is that at least some little bugs will benefit out of you... And that'll help improving the world, that'll contribute making a better world anyhow!!!

You've got a friend - James Taylor (Carole King)

Podrás oír mientras lees - You can listen while you read

When you're down and troubled
And you need some loving care
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

If the sky above you
Grows dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind begins to blow
Keep your head together
And call my name out loud
Soon you'll hear me knocking at your door

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there

Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend
When people can be so cold
They'll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don't you let them

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

¿Por qué un rinoceronte? - Why a rhino?

Somebody asked me once: "why a rhino as the blog's picture?"
Good question!
First, because it is an animal I've always loved! It's such a reminiscence of the past...
Besides, it is a herbivore whose main concern is keeping its territory clear of strangers, and it is neither a hunter, nor a scavenger, nor a predator...
But try to make it angry... and you'll see...

Distilled

Dice la Encyclopaedia Britannica (1969 - versión íntegra no actualizada heredada en los '90 de mi padre): Distillation, an operation involving the conversion of a substance into vapour which is subsequently condensed to the liquid form.

Invictus - William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me
Black as the Pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

nunca me he lamentado ni he pestañeado.

Listen (Beyonce)

To my daughter Iratxe... She loves this song...

Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start but can't complete

Listen to the sound from deep within
It's only beginning to find release

Ohh the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own, all 'cause you won't listen

[Chorus]
Listen
I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
And I've tried and tried
To say what's on my mind
You should have known
Now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what
You've made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own
You should have listened

There was someone here inside
Someone I thought had died
So long ago
Oh I'm screaming out
And my dreams will be heard
They will not be pushed Aside or turned
Into your own
All 'cause you won't listen

[Chorus]
Listen
I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
And I've tried and tried
To say what's on my mind
You should have known
Now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what
You've made of me
I followed the voice, you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own

I don't know where I belong
But I'll be moving on
If you don't, if you won't

Listen to the song here in my heart
A melody I start, but I will complete

Now I am done believing you
You don't know not what I am feeling
I'm more than what you've made of me
I followed the voice you think you gave to me

But now I got to find my own - my own

Love Of My Life (Queen)

It seems that it's about songs... Why try saying what others already said with music and even better than what one could have ever said?

Love of my life - you've hurt me
You've broken my heart and now you leave me
Love of my life can't you see
Bring it back, bring it back
Don't take it away from me
Because you don't know
What it means to me

Love of my life - don't leave me
You've taken my love and now desert me
Love of my life can't you see
Bring it back, bring it back
Don't take it away from me
Because you don't know
What it means to me

You will remember
When this is blown over
And everything's all by the way
When I grow older
I will be there at your side to remind you
How I still love you - I still love you

Ooooo
Back - hurry back
Please bring it back home to me
Because you don't know
What it means to me

Love of my life
Love of my life ...
Oooh, ooooh...

I'm so tired (The Beatles)

I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink
No,no,no.

I'm so tired I don't know what to do
I'm so tired my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you would do

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
for a little peace of mind

I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid get (git).

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
for a little peace of mind
I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mind
I'd give you everything I've got for a little peace of mind
(mumbling)

The Dream Catcher

My sister sent this comment to one of my posts. As far as I like it, and not many potential visitors (if any!!!) read the comments (almost always better than the posts which originated them), I decided to publish it as a post by itself. Thanks Miren!!!

The Native Americans believe in the Dream Catcher, and through the distance I am sending you an imaginary one (...)
"Close your eyes and envision a Dream Catcher... good dreams slip through the hole in the center, but bad dreams get caught on the web - only the good dreams will be remembered - that is how one must live life - remember only the happiness."

No he podido evitarlo... / I couldn't stop it

(Thanks Madam Scissors!)
The Last Poem, Sophie Auster
I have dreamed of you so much
You are no longer real.
Is there still time for me to touch
Your breathing body,
To kiss your mouth
And make your voice come alive again?
I have dreamed of you so much
There's no more time for me to wake up.
I have dreamed of you so much,
Have walked so much, talked so much,
Slept so much with your phantom,
The only thing left for me
Is to become a phantom among phantoms,
A shadow a hundred times more shadow
Than the shadow that moves and goes on moving,
Brightly, over the sundial of your life.
Lyrics: Robert Desnos (Editions Gallmard). English version: Paul Auster. Vocals: Sophie Auster. Drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, vibraphone, piano, Hammond B-3, claviola, and backing vocals: Joshua Camp and Michael Hearst. Trumpet: Hank Bones.

Happy new (academic) year!!!

It's September again ... The summer passed away. For some there were holidays, good or bad, but holidays anyhow... Others didn't have them (me among those)... Yet, at least for me, August was productive and fruitful: I knew Calcutta (Kolkata), in West Bengal, India. An unforgettable experience that, I think as some others, has made a difference in my life, kind of before and after of many things... Thanks to all those Bengali people who made it possible. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

From a friend...

My friend, Alexander A. sent me this message... He's so shy he'll never write a personal blog. I asked his permission to publish his message, and he agreed...

"I remember her. We met in Seville. We shared the streets, the fragrances of the city, the magic of the night... Nothing (physical) happened... We shared the flight to Madrid the next day...

Two years passed by... Some e-mails, some phone calls we shared...

Last time we met was in central Europe...

Yesterday I had a walk... I stopped by her hotel... Nobody came... But her fragrance still fills my soul... Is this love?"

Thanks Alex...

Dreams may come true

Never wake up!
Yes, I'm just a man, a little one, full of gaps and fragile...
Can't stand having such a little time for living...
Would call you a thousand times, but the phone is so cold...
Would write a million words, but they're so empty...
Our trains run on different railroads... Where to I still don't know...
I would have bought you a ticket, just to share again part of the trip... I tried hard, but I failed...
I would have gone in your car, but I missed it...
Yet, dreams may come true... Shall we meet somewhere over the rainbow?

Sand & Stone

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him,
"After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Do not value the things you have in your life. But value who you have in your life! (Anonimous author. Received through the Internet)

-------------------------------
If I looked down, not seeing anything I would be very afraid.
If I looked up, not seeing anything it would be too cold.
If I looked around, not seeing anything then I wouldn't understand anything.
If I looked inside, not seeing anything I wouldn't be awaken, or maybe I'm dead...
I'd rather don't look...
